Fishin’

[2 Min Read]

“Oh darn it!” A boy wearing a red cap a size too large swore up and down in the boat.

“What are you doing, son?” A tall man with deep wrinkles helped the boy wrestle his fishing hook free of the recliner chair. “This ain’t like fishin’ outdoors. You need precision when you cast. Here, watch me.”

The man held his rod up to shoulder height, then flicked his wrist. Landing his fishing bobber in the spot just above the living room rug where the fish bit best.

The boy mimicked his man’s actions, sticking his tongue out for additional concentration, and joined his fishing lure inches away from the man’s with a small ‘plop.’
